Shell Heat Transfer Oil is a specialized line of high-efficiency heat transfer fluids from Shell, designed for closed circulation systems of indirect heating and cooling in industrial equipment. These oils provide efficient heat transfer in chemical, petroleum, textile, food industries, as well as in wood, plastics manufacturing and other sectors where stable operation at high temperatures is required.

The flagship products of the series are Shell Heat Transfer Oil S2 (mineral, previously known as Shell Thermia B) and Shell Heat Transfer Oil S2 X (enhanced formula with antioxidants, previously known as Shell Thermia C), as well as synthetic variants S3 for particularly high-temperature applications. They feature excellent thermal and oxidative stability, low viscosity for efficient circulation and heat transfer, minimal deposit formation, low vapor pressure, and reliable corrosion protection. The oils allow operation at bulk temperatures up to 300–320°C and film temperatures up to 320–380°C (depending on the product), significantly extending the service life of the heat transfer fluid.
